Hello Staplers,
I've got a table, but I know there are people out there with too much table space and too little money!
Comment on this thread if you need a little space, or have too much!

Show plugs!
Hey folks, just wanted to give a shout out to a couple fellow event organizers.
All the way across the pond in good Ol' Blighty, Pat Finlay runs a very well regarded indie comics expo, now in it's fifth or sixth year. His success with the Thing helped inspire yours truly to beleive that it could be done here too.
In New Orleans my good friend Leo McGovern runs the Alternative Media Expo, which has been going and growing for some time as well. I've been able to learn a lot from Leo, and he's just a super-awesome dude. This year it's on Sat. 2/23. If you're in the area it's well worth checking out.

7000 BC First Time at STAPLE!
7000 BC (Sweet 7000's Baaadassss Comics) is a collective of Northern New Mexico-based comics creators — happy to finally be making it to STAPLE!.
7000 BC will be represented at the show by Monica and Bram, who will have all kinds of comics from group members, including some that will be seeing the light of day for the first time at STAPLE!. We're looking forward to meeting some fellow creators and enjoying ourselves in Austin (never having been here, we're looking for suggestions).
A few of the comics that will be at the table:

Old-school Staplehead
Just posting to say hi. This will be my fourth STAPLE! (year one | year two | year three) I'm looking forward to seeing Paul Maybury, Nikki Cook, Danielle Corsetto, Joe Eisma, Rebecca Hicks, Fred Van Lente, Ryan Dunlavey, Brian Wood, Joshua Boulet, Mike Lagocki, Uncle Staple, Rob Osbourne, Kit Lively, Dylan Edwards, Thomas P. Reidy III, Paul Benjamin, Dana Place, Paul Milligan, David Sherrill, and everybody else I can't think of off the top of my head.
I have two new graphic novels available this year: Karma Incorporated, Vol. 1 and Astronaut Dad, Vol. 1 -- plus, plenty of preview art for vol.2 of both series and a sneak peek at my next big project: Bolivar.
Check out my website: www.antiherocomics.com
From Dallas to Austin, much love for I-35.

First time at Staple!
Hello, Paul Maybury here.
Some of you might know me from various Image anthologies such as the 24seven series, Popgun, put the book back on the shelf and Wicked West 2.
I'm also the artist and creator of the soon to be released Aqua Leung from Image comics, and a member of the online webcomix collective ACT-I-VATE.com, and was featured on Zuda.com.
I'll be attending Staple with fellow ACT-I-VATE member Nikki Cook, and Chemistry Set writer Steve Goldman. Come find us and say hello!

STAPLE! Newb
This will be my first time at STAPLE! and my first time in the fabulous city of Austin. I'd like to hear from some STAPLE! veterans out there . . . what can I absolutely NOT miss on my visit?
I'd especially like to know the best place to get coffee in Austin. I'll be doing an overnight flight out of San Diego, so I'll need me some caffeine. My weekend needs to be good to the last drop 'cause I don't want to miss a thing.

Help promote STAPLE!
One of the things we've found after doing this show for a few years is that attendees hear about STAPLE! from many different sources, and a lot of it is word of mouth. To encourage everyone to spread the word we are offering a set of web buttons and banners that you can easily include on your web site's sidebar or just copy and paste directly into a blog post. Check out the promotion section for details, including the latest flyer download. Thanks!

Welcome to the new community blog
Welcome! We are turning off our original community discussion forums, and instead building a new group weblog for STAPLE! staff, special guests, and exhibitors. We hope this will complement our main news section to become a great source to hear about and comment on preparations for STAPLE! 2008. Please leave a comment if you have any feedback or questions about our upcoming show.
